Introducing... Kendra Scott

By GOTRSD on 4/11/2017

Girls on the Run San Diego provides its program to more than 1,000 girls throughout San Diego each year thanks to the generosity of its donors and sponsors. We’d like to introduce you to some of those companies, organizations and people and share their thoughts on giving-back to the community and what it is about Girls on the Run that resonates with them.

“From a local to a national scale, if someone comes to us with a cause they care about, we will always have something to give. Philanthropy has become an integral part of the Kendra Scott company, and the relationships we have built with our customers and our communities as a result are invaluable.”

Alejandra Aranda

Kendra Scott

GOTRSD: Hi, Alejandra can you please tell me a little bit about your role as Kendra Scott’s community relations and events manager? (By the way not many companies have an amazing position like yours.)

Alejandra: My job is to go out in the community build relationships with organizations that Kendra Scott can partner with. We currently partner with 60 organizations in San Diego at a local level. This year Kendra Scott will be giving back $3 million.

GOTRSD: Tell me a little bit about Kendra Scott's relationship with Girls on the Run International?

Alejandra: Kendra Scott partnered with GOTR because our missions aligned. It was easy and exciting to support your organization. The thing that excited me the most was understanding the “why” behind running- and why that’s the anchor of the organization.

GOTRSD: What are your thoughts of GOTRSD and its importance in the San Diego Community?

Alejandra: I think that GOTRSD is a great organization that makes a difference. San Diego has so much need in the communities, so it’s great to partner with organizations that can help make an impact. I really like the structure of the program for the girls. They dedicate so much time to better themselves at practice and it teaches them this idea of planning until you reach your goal.
