Welcome to the Spring 2024 Season!

We are so excited to welcome everyone to the Spring 2024 season! We have been anxiously anticipating the return of our program to new and returning sites all around San Diego County! The GOTRSD Council team has been preparing to support sites, connecting with site liaisons, launching participant registration, coordinating coach trainings, and packing supply bags with our dedicated volunteers.

We are thrilled to release our evolved and updated curriculum, Hello, Superstar! that better meets the needs of today’s girls. Our collective efforts will contribute to a future where every young woman can use her voice, stand up for herself and others, and make a difference in her community. Here we go!

A Shared Vision of Joy, Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!

Joy is a powerful force. It’s not magic, yet is powerful enough to influence our hearts and minds in a positive direction.

We share in the mission of joy with MLK, a visionary leader and advocate for equality who spearheaded the civil rights movement in the United States and the world through non-violence.

At Girls on the Run, our mission is to “inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.” Each season comes to an end with a joyful and fun non-competitive 5K Celebration. This culmination gives participants a tangible sense of accomplishment and the confidence to be the authors of their own stories.

In Solidarity,

Natasia, Izabel, Kayla, Lauryn, and Sandy!

Participant Registration is Open!

It is time to register for Girls on the Run (3-5 grade) and Heart & Sole (6-8 grade)!

Registration closes at midnight on Friday, March 1st.

On the Coach Front!

Coaches are the heart of our program! Each session, volunteer coaches inspire and guide a team through our tried-and-true curriculum. Not a runner? No problem, all you need is a desire to support and encourage girls. If you’re ready to directly make an impact, then this role is for you!

Our evidence-based program will continue to consist of:

  • Joyful physical movement-based activities

  • Relevant group discussions that teach life skills and critical thinking

  • Team building exercises and community impact projects that encourage a welcoming place for all
