Team Applications Are Open

Team Applications are now live!  Girls on the Run San Diego is committed to helping more girls discover the joy and confidence that comes from movement and goal setting. Provide girls in your community, school, or neighborhood with a safe environment to build healthy habits and relationships that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. Learn how you can start a Girls on the Run team this season!

Welcome to Our New Staff!

We are thrilled to welcome Lauryn Gabriel as our new Program Coordinator.

Lauryn brings with her a genuine enthusiasm and a heartfelt passion for giving back to the community that has played a significant role in her life. Her decision to join our team is a thoughtful and intentional one, driven by her strong alignment with our organization's values, both personally and professionally.

As a San Diego native, Lauryn is no stranger to the remarkable impact that GOTRSD has on the local community. She eagerly looks forward to contributing her unique perspective and skills to our mission, knowing that together, we can continue making a real difference in the lives of the girls we serve.

Before joining our GOTRSD family, Lauryn has already demonstrated her commitment to growing organizations, using her creativity and dedication to foster meaningful connections.

In her free time, Lauryn finds joy in the company of her two fur babies Bentley and Ace. Beyond her professional commitments, she is a passionate advocate for providing safe spaces for Black youth to flourish while encouraging them to be their authentic selves. Lauryn firmly believes that embracing one's uniqueness is imperative to individual growth.

RSVP Today for our Growing Together Volunteer Event

We’re thrilled to invite GOTRSD’s volunteers and coaches to Growing Together, Sunday 11/12 from 9 am to noon at Hera Hub La Jolla. The event will provide our GOTR community with the opportunity to meet new staff and other volunteers and learn trauma-informed facilitation skills from licensed marriage and family therapist, Candi Kizer. For anyone interested, after the formal programming, we will walk a trail at Torrey Pines State Natural Preserve to balance our star. Light refreshments will be served. All GOTR volunteers and coaches are encouraged to bring a friend along. RSVP here by Friday 11/3!

Support GOTRSD on Giving Tuesday

Please mark your calendars! This year Giving Tuesday falls on Tuesday, November 28th!

Join us on Giving Tuesday to empower girls! Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities. Please join in and consider making a donation or acting as an advocate for GOTRSD by asking your employer, your friends, and your family to support Girls On The Run San Diego and our programs inspiring girls throughout San Diego County to recognize and access their unlimited potential! Your donation can make a world of difference. Let’s support their dreams and aspirations. Give today and be part of the change! #GirlsEmpowerment #GivingTuesday

Look for our Giving Tuesday posts, goal announcements, and emails leading up to Giving Tuesday! If you would like to make your donation early, you can do so here.

Share Your Gratitudes

Throughout November, on our social media and in our newsletter, we will be sharing what those in the GOTRSD Community are grateful for. Whether you are on staff, a member of the board, a GOTR caregiver, a GOTR participant, or a GOTR coach/volunteer, we want to hear from you! Let’s spread positivity and gratitude! It’s amazing how a little gratitude can go a long way. #Gratitude #SpreadPositivity

Share with us what you are grateful for, and you may find yourself featured in our communications.

Sponsor a Girls On The Run San Diego Team!

The GOTRSD team is excited to be gearing up for the Spring 2024 season! Our mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident is made possible through our loyal supporters and donors. Girls On The Run Teams have up to 20 participants, and the cost for each team is $7,200. This includes program materials, proper running shoes for team members in need of them, snacks, 5K registration, and all the administrative costs that go into organizing and managing these vital teams. Please consider sponsoring one of our teams. Sponsorship includes your name/company name on our team program shirts and comes with the inspiring knowledge that you are helping to transform the lives of girls in San Diego County. Learn more about sponsorship here, or contact Sandy Rabourne with any questions at sandy@gotrsd.org.
