What's Shaking This September?

GOTR Program Participants

Program Updates

As we highlighted this summer, for the first time in our organization’s history, we are not offering a fall season this year. Here are some key updates we’re working on to ensure GOTRSD programming is back better than ever this spring!

Spring Registration: Mark your calendars! We plan to open team registration on Monday, October 16.

Program Assessment: We are actively looking at where GOTRSD programming is offered throughout San Diego County and identifying areas where we have been underrepresented. This will help us determine where to focus our community outreach efforts so our program can be inclusive and accessible to all.

Community and Diversity: We are committed to being an organization that mirrors the communities we serve, and are actively seeking volunteers and coaches from communities not currently represented strongly in our volunteer community. People of all races, ethnicities, thinking styles, abilities, generations, social roles, income levels, sexual orientations, gender identities, education levels, and religions are welcome within Girls on the Run San Diego.

How You Can Get Involved

Volunteer: If you’ve wondered about ways to get involved with GOTRSD, here is your sign! Contact our Volunteer & Community Manager Kayla Smith at kayla@gotrsd.org for ways you can support.

Share your feedback: If you’ve coached or volunteered with the organization in the past, we want to hear from you! Whether you have ideas on how we can better support our volunteers and coaches or just want to share a part of your experience that you wish was different, contact our Volunteer & Community Manager Kayla Smith at kayla@gotrsd.org.

Support our language access initiative: We strive to provide our content–including our newsletter, social media, and printed materials–in the languages spoken in San Diego, especially Spanish. If you’re interested in supporting our translation efforts, or participating in focus groups to provide feedback on written content, email our Executive Director Natasia de Silva at natasia@gotrsd.org.
